Children’s choir at Stavanger’s Cathedral Square

Stavanger2008 intends to let every voice be heard in 2007 – loud and clear. In May and June these voices will be the voices of children. The primary schools in the Stavanger2008 network "Schools for culture" have chosen singing as their vocal expression. On Fridays in May and June we will put up amplifiers and sound equipment outside the cathedral in Stavanger, and each of the schools will perform a 20-30 minutes programme of their own choice.   

The series of concerts end on Friday 15 June with a grand concert of traditional songs from Stavanger. All the schools will take part in this event and they will be joined by senior citizens from the Stavanger pensioner's association.

Programme:
Friday 4 May at 11 a.m.: Jåtten school
Friday 11 May at 11 a.m. and 12 noon: Kampen school
Friday 25 May at 11 a.am.:  Kvaleberg school, at 12 noon: Roalsøy school
Friday 1 June at 11 a.m.: Byfjord school
Friday 15 June at 11 a.m.:  Jåtten school, 12 noon: Tasta school
Friday 15 June at 12 noon: All the schools, together with senior citizens
